Much of the discussion in this workshop was based on Joe Friel's excellent and near-ubiquitous Cyclist's Training Bible. You can get more info on that at http://www2.trainingbible.com/. In particular, several free resources are available for download, including the yearly training plan template, general training tips, and notes on weight building and heart rate training. Several important sections are also summarized in the worksheets linked above. The book is available relatively cheaply at most bookstores, and most teams in the area have at least a few people who own a copy. Feel free to ask around & see if you can borrow one. The Philadelphia Free Library system also has several copies.
